The Ian Charles Westrip Performing Arts Association for Performing Arts is committed to assisting and supporting youth and  persons with a disability by financial assistance to their classes, performances and productions in what ever way it may do so.

Please help me to help the needy in what I know is a worthwhile cause by a donation of some kind.
Have I helped you or your family? Then please help me to help others.

A message from Ian Westrip

In 2008, I attended a conference in Melbourne that had the theme, “Persons with a disability in the performing arts.” At first it seemed a fruitless visit but as it came to a conclusion I saw the wonderful benefits that performance could make to children and young adults. In fact I was astounded and was convinced by the time I had returned to Perth that I could do something useful for persons with disability through my school, The Stage Door School of Performing Arts.

Since then I have continued to assist young artists in their early careers with opportunities to perform through concerts and stage productions as well as create classes at Stage Door for persons with a disability through my excellent colleague and friend Kelly Buckle. I am convinced of their worth with some astounding results, children making sounds for the first time etc and we intend to expand the activities with your help.

I am sure we can do more with more performances and even providing assistance to those that find finance a struggle with such a burden placed upon their families.

Young artists also need assistance and support in their early careers and we hope to assist those in great need with scholarships etc as well as support the productions that we present to give them a showcase for their talents.

I am grateful to my colleagues, Robin Evans, Kelly Buckle and John Senczuk who have been so supportive of these ideals as well as my wife Marion and family, Charlotte, Laurence, Oliver, Frederick and Rupert and my stepbrother Paul Hanlon.

I have decided to especially appeal to those who have had “six degrees of separation” with me throughout my career. Those that were my students, were in an audience for one of my productions, choral concerts, saw me perform as an opera singer and conductor, were in one of my choirs, attended APEX Carols by Candlelight, or have met me or had worked with me in any of my performance work.

If all these people donated just $10 we would be able to help so many.

Now that you have been on to my web site you are one.
